Dr Shawn Van de Vyver, talks about automation to attract new patients for higher fee services like dental implants, and personalized follow ups to increase patient retention.

Shawn is a dentist in Michigan. And after several associate positions acquired his own practice in 2008, and rebranded it Great Lakes Dentistry.

Shawn does most of his own marketing including facebook advertising, email, and lead generation. Armed with a lot of his own knowledge, he has seen double digit growth every year, and now only works 2 full days a week in his practice.

He is also a podcaster with a show called America’s Dental Expert, The Snarky Dentist and built a unique tool he calls Practice In A Pod, which I want to learn more about.

  • Using Facebook to capture targeted patients. Sending automated follow up emails to educate them on the procedure they were interested in.
