If you’re a successful dental business you most likely have used an SEO Agency to get more traffic to your website for many of the procedures you offer. Unfortunately, SEO is the “black hole” for many of you, as you’ve all most likely had a bad experience or two with a dental SEO agency.
The cost for SEO can range in price dramatically depending on several factors:
SEO like most marketing and everything in this world is “you get what you pay for“. I’m not trying to avoid answering the main question of this article, but you can talk to 100 different SEO agencies who work with dentists, and you will here 100 different pricing packages.
With that being said, I do want to give you a range, and that is all it is as we would need to do a market analysis of your dental business to see how much it would take to move the needle in a reasonable time and make it a great ROI.
You may speak to some smaller agencies who charge in the low hundreds per month. Maybe in the $300-$400 per month range, up to possibly $800. Unfortunately, if you are in a city of 50,000 or more this budget will be impossible to get traction and rank near the top in google, when you’ll have competitors at the top who are investing 5-8 times that much every month.
If you are in a city of 50,000-75,000 and you are want to be in the top 3 in the maps section, and organic (below the maps), it will be more like $1000 per month on the very low and up to $1800 per month. Again this all depends on your current rankings and how competitive your area is.
If your dental business is in a city of 100,000-300,000 population according to the American Dental Association you’ll have 80-400 competing dentists all vying for top rankings in google for all their dental procedures.
The SEO price packages for highly competitive cities like the above can be $2,000 up to $4000 or more per month. Again, it depends on your starting point, how many dental procedures you want to go after and how fast you want to get there. The more resources you put into it, the faster you can get to the top of google.
Because ranking in google (and staying there) has become ultra-competitive and google will not just hand out top rankings, you must prepare for a 6-12 month journey with SEO. The more business-minded dentists are willing to be patient as they know in the end it will be the best investment bar none for their business long term.
The goal with any credible dental SEO company is showing improvement in rankings, traffic and conversions month-after-month. If you can see solid movement up the ranks for multiple keywords (dental procedures), this should be reassuring you will get there.
I recently recorded a podcast (our podcast is on itunes called Your Dental Success) with a prominent dental influencer and successful dentist discussing this exact topic using research to back the number. You can also check out an article I wrote recently How Much Should You Invest In Marketing To Grow Your Dental Revenues. This will be a huge eye-opener for the majority of dentists, but it is all research-backed numbers.
