As you already know, Facebook is massive! What I want to show you in this article is how you can shoot a simple video using your smartphone and leverage it on Facebook to your exact target market to attract more new patients to your practice.
We have been urging our dental clients to use video for the past view years. With a lot of resistance, we’ve had a few that have done this and seen huge results from it.
For example, one cosmetic dentist of ours secured a $20,000 smile makeover and a $15,000 veneer case from videos we did for his practice. Please let me add, this was not from a boosted post, this was using our Video Marketing service, and these patients saw the video on our clients website.
The main difference is a boosted post is content that is on your Facebook page. An ad is created outside of the content on your page. They both can be used to drive traffic and clicks to your website, for dental offers you use to attract new patients.
The post on its own would only reach a very small portion of your current audience which could be as little as 1%!
Boosting the post allows you to ensure a much larger audience of your choice sees the post in their news feed.
Facebook ads are a more advanced way to advertise on Facebook and will require a Facebook ad manager account.
Facebook ads offer the greatest number of options for advertisers and the type of ad you choose to use will depend on what the goal of your campaign is. These options include likes, clicks to website, app installs, app engagement, website conversions, event responses, offer claims, video views & local awareness.
Another benefit to running ads over boosted posts is the ability to add an optional call to action button promoting actions such as ‘shop now’, ‘sign up’, ‘download’ and ‘contact us’ to name a few.
Just the other day I was on the phone with a client, and we discussed shooting a simple video and boosting it on Facebook. Here is what happened next…
“We’re always looking for new and fresh ways to market our dental practice. Mike over at The Dental Boost recommended we try a Promoted Facebook video. We got it filmed, posted, and promoted and within a day we got our first call (and new patient).
I’m excited about this new avenue for promoting our practice and appreciate the help Mike gave us every step of the way!” – RJ, Dentist in Idaho
So what should a dentist do when it comes to Facebook boosted post vs ad? It all comes down to your goals you want to achieve.
If you’re looking for engagement, then all you need is a good, targeted post. If you want very specific targeting, and the ability to create it and not have it on your page, then a facebook ad would be the way to go.
If you are struggling with your dental practice marketing, let us do an Digital Marketing Assessment, and give you our recommendations. There is no cost to this, but we of course would like the opportunity to help you implement our recommendations, but if not, no hard feelings.
